Robert L. Fritz

Robert L. Fritz, 83, of 401 Sherman Street Ext., Muncy, died Monday, December 21, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born June 26, 1932 in Montgomery, he was a son of the late Edmund and Sara (Yeagle) Fritz. On May 13, 1951 he married the former Doris F. Rohm, who survives. Together they celebrated 64 years of marriage.

Robert attended Montgomery High School. He worked as a machinist for the former Sprout Waldron, now Andritz for 38 years and was a member of Sprout’s Quarter Century Club.

Robert attended the First United Methodist Church, Muncy. He was a member of the Muncy Lodge #299, F & AM and the Loyal Order of the Moose #866 Muncy Valley.

Robert loved hunting, fishing and walking his dog. In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas L. and Drusilla Fritz, of Somerset, KY, Edward L. and Brenda Fritz, of Goshen, IN and Daniel B. and Dena Fritz, of Laughlintown, PA; a daughter and son-in-law, Jane F. and John Lucas, of Muncy; two sisters, Jane Maxfield, of Berwick and Mary Heimbach, of Mifflinburg; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Michele Fritz and a sister, Elsie Achenbach.

Friends were received from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28 at the First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market St., Muncy, where the funeral was held at 11 a.m. with his pastor the Rev. Arlene Beechert, officiating, and assisted by his son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Edward Fritz and the Rev. Brenda Fritz.

Burial followed in the Muncy Cemetery.

The family provided the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market St., Muncy, PA 17756.
