Feb 12, 2016

Maxine Schrader Everett, formerly of Broad Street in Montoursville, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, January 30th, at the Muncy Skilled Nursing Unit. She was the daughter of Robert (Bob) and Pauline Kelly Schrader and was born August 28, 1930, on the Schrader Farm near Franklindale, Bradford County.

Maxine was a 1948 graduate of Montoursville High School and over the years was employed at Shaheen Auto Sales, Sylvania Electric, Lycoming College, the District Office of Congressman Allen Ertel and the Defense Logistics Agency along with being a super-mom to her two sons, Garth (Susan) and Chris (Debbie) Everett, and their families. She and her husband, David, were married in the Bethany Lutheran Church, Montoursville, on December 28, 1951, and were lifelong members of the Church.

She enjoyed playing cards at the Women’s Club with her friends, golf with her husband and their golfing group, Penn State tailgates and bowl games, winter vacations in Florida, dancing to swing band music with Dave and, most of all, spending time with her family. When it came to raising her two sons, she asked that her epitaph read, “Lord knows I tried”.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, David Everett, and is survived by a sister Greta (Tim) Perry. Along with her two sons, also surviving are four granddaughters Megan, Sarah and Jennifer Everett and Corinne (Matthew) McLaughlin and two great-grandchildren, Riley and Nolan McLaughlin.

A memorial and remembrance of her life will be held 5:00 p.m.Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 369 Broad St. Montoursville with the Rev. David B. Letscher officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org/ or Alzheimer’s Association National Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.

Arrangements are being made by Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville.
