Helen E. Black

Helen E. Black, 89, a resident of Muncy, PA, formerly of Montgomery, PA, went to be with her Lord on Friday, March 4, 2016 in The Gatehouse at Williamsport, PA. Born in Jolar, Snyder County, PA, on Wednesday, May 12, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Alvin S. and Ruth (Moyer) Row.

Helen was a 1944 graduate of Montgomery-Clinton High School.

She was employed by Weis Markets at Montgomery for 14 years and was retired from GTE Sylvania where she was employed for 8 years.

Helen was a member of the Grace Presbyterian Church at Montgomery, PA where she was a deacon. She enjoyed bowling and was an accomplished piano player. She especially enjoyed playing for her church.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol H. Weikel Hill and husband Donald Hill, Muncy, PA; Judith M. Weikel Yagel and husband Kenneth Yagel, Williamsport, PA; one sister, Marie Lehr, Lancaster, PA; one brother, Donald and wife Peggy Rowe, Montgomery, PA. Helen is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Joseph Baier; one great-great-grandson Blake Moore and two brothers, Kenneth Rowe and George Rowe.

Funeral services were conducted from the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 North Main Street, Muncy, PA at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016 with Reverend Hobart G. Campbell, her pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends called on Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
