Albert E. Eschenbach III
Albert E. Eschenbach III of Milton, PA passed away peacefully on March 25, 2016 at the age of 92 at the Evangelical Hospital, Lewisburg, PA. He is survived by his beloved companion of 30 years, Virginia Azinger of Milton, PA, his daughter Nancy Kingery of Allenwood, PA and his step-daughter Catharine Davis of Evergreen, CO and 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen.
He was born September 20, 1923 in Williamsport, PA, the eldest son of the late Albert E. Eschenbach and Vivian Corey Eschenbach. He attended Williamsport schools and Carnegie Mellon University.
He was a WWII veteran, serving in the 100th Infantry Division. He saw 2 years of active duty in Europe and participated in the liberation of Bitche.
Albert worked for Sprout Waldron in Muncy, PA where he was a Machine Shop Supervisor and then Sheet Metal Superintendent. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club.
He had a lifelong passion for fly-fishing and spent many hours in the streams of Pennsylvania. He was active in Rotary International and the Milton Presbyterian Church, where he sang in the choir.
A Graveside Service is planned for April 9 at 2:30 in Wildwood Cemetery in Williamsport. Memorial donations may be made to the Susquehanna Chapter of Trout Unlimited, PO Box 1132, Williamsport, PA 17703-1132.
