Barbara H. Williams
Barbara Helen Williams (ne Straub) of Muncy, Pennsylvania was greeted into her heavenly home on June 13, 2016. She was born January 25, 1949 in St. Marys, PA to Roman and Isabelle Straub.
Barbara and Howard Williams became husband and wife on May 17, 1969 in St. Marys, PA at Shiloh Presbyterian Church. They raised their children, Roman and Stephanie, in Muncy, PA. Roman is married to Joelle and has three children, Elizabeth, Alexander, and Isaac, who lives in Grand Rapids, MI. Stephanie is married to Robert Morris; they have two children, Ana and Carter, and live in Duncannon, PA. Also surviving are her siblings Kenneth Straub (Dubois, PA), Teri Schlabach (St. Marys, PA), and Paul Straub (Camino, WA); and her sister-in-law Carol Williams (Carlisle, PA).
Barbara taught engineering drafting technology at Penn College of Technology (1980-1996) and retired professor emeritus. She was an active member of Evangelical Free Fellowship of Muncy as a women’s Bible study leader and the chairperson of community outreach. A large part of her ministry was mentoring women at Expectations Women’s Center in Williamsport, PA, where she taught classes on pregnancy, parenting, relationships, and the Bible.
Flowers will be arranged by the family. Gifts in her memory may be made to Expectations Women’s Center (9 N. 3rd Street, Lewisburg, PA 17837). A private burial took place on June 16, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. held at Muncy First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market Street, Muncy, PA.
