Clair E. “Yogie” Stahl

Clair E. “Yogie” Stahl, 83, of Muncy, died Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Watsontown Health & Rehab Center.

Born October 5, 1932 in Turbotville, he was a son of the late Franklin P. and Florence N. Dreisbach Stahl. He married the former Marguerite Finley Opp, and together they celebrated 52 years of marriage.

Clair attended the former Williamsport Community College, and was employed as a draftsman for Milton Steel, before retiring from the former Sprout-Waldron, Muncy. He was a proud member of the Keystone Drum Bugle Corps, the Quarter Century Club, and the bowling league at the former Cloverleaf Lanes, Muncy. Clair volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the Muncy Valley hospital. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a step-son, William “Bill” (Joyce) Tobias of Muncy; two sisters, Hilda Dillon of CT and Patricia Sheatler of Milton; a brother, Melvin Stahl of Lock Haven; five step-grandchildren, Julie (Gary) Bennett, Jennifer (John) Heaton, Phillip Tobias, Kathy (Jamie) Rakestraw, and Chad Tobias; five step-great-grandchildren, Taylor Bennett, Eric Bennett, Matthew Heaton, Logan Rakestraw, and Kasey Rakestraw; and his beloved dog, Molly.

In addition to his parents, Clair was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Myron Stahl; two sisters, Lorraine Hamrick and Ruth Yoder; and a step-son, Robert Tobias.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 13, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water Street, Hughesville, with Rev. Erwin C. Roux officiating. Burial followed in Muncy Cemetery. Friends called from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
