Althea J. Minier

Althea J. Minier, 93, of Montoursville, died Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Valley View Nursing Center.

Born August 24, 1923 in Flint, MI, she was a daughter of the late Brady and Hazel (Shaw) Zerbe. She married the late Charles J. Minier, who preceded her in death on October 16, 1983.

Althea graduated from Bloomsburg University, after that she joined Army Nurse Corps. After her time of service she continued her career as a nurse, retiring from Lysock View in 1983. Althea enjoyed gardening, reading, eating out, and traveling, where she managed to lose something on every trip.

She is survived by three sons, Michael (Wanda) Costain of Littlestown, David (Diana) Minier of Glen Burnie, MD and Daniel Minier of Alameda, CA; six grandchildren, Tina Costain of Broomfield, CO, Valerie Costain of Broomfield, CO, Jessica Costain of Littlestown, and Marie, DeeDee, and Steve Drummer all of Glen Burnie, MD; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a three siblings, Elsie Tass, Paul Zerbe, Donna Kirkner.

In keeping with Althea’s wishes, service will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
