Alice Swartz Ludwick

Alice Swartz Ludwick, 82, passed away peacefully with family by her side on August 28, 2017, in Peoria, Ariz.

Alice was born in Muncy on Nov. 4, 1934. She graduated from Muncy High School in 1952, and from Bloomsburg University in 1956 with a degree in Education. After teaching one year in Penns Creek, Pennsylvania. Alice spent two years teaching in Germany and one year teaching in Japan. While in Sasebo, Japan, she met and married fellow teacher John Jack Ludwick. They returned to the States and settled in Tucson, Arizona, where they built their life together and raised their three children. Alice also taught preschool for 25 years at Fountain of Life Lutheran Church in Tucson until her retirement in 1997. In 2011, she moved to Peoria, Arizona to be near family.

She will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by her children, Elizabeth Ludwick-Bax (Michael), Rebecca Keefe (Tom), John Jack, Luke; her brothers, Kay (Carolyn) Swartz; and her newphew, Michael Swartz.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, John Ludwick Jr in 2000; her parents, Luray and Merle Swartz; and her brother, Paul Swartz.

A private memorial service will be held. Alices love for family, the ocean and life will live on through her children and grandchildren.
