John S. Hulsizer
John S. Hulsizer, 85, a resident of Muncy, PA, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in The Gatehouse at Williamsport. Born Monday, December 5, 1932 at Northumberland, Northumberland Co., PA he was a son of the late Max A. and Evelean (Clayberger) Hulsizer. John was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Marie (Molter) Hulsizer, on April 16, 2006. They are now dancing together in Heaven.
He was a 1950 graduate of Northumberland High School. John honorably served his country with the US Army in the 101st Air Borne Division during the Korean War. John retired in 1993 from Andritz at Muncy where he was employed for over 30 years as a foundry technician.
John was a member of American Legion Post 268 at Muncy, the Edward J. Smith V.F.W. Post 3428 at Muncy, L.O.O.M. Lodge 1133 at Danville and the Andritz Quarter Century Club. He enjoyed traveling and woodworking.
He is survived by four children, John and wife Susan Hulsizer of Etters, PA; Lee Hulsizer and fiancee Abbie Stevens of Sugar Run, PA; Sandra and husband Merle Wells of Hammond, NY; Joan and husband Daniel Whitmoyer of Muncy, PA; six grandchildren, Shannon Hulsizer; Deana and husband Steve Plakiotis; Bethany Hulsizer; Merle Wells III; Danna and husband Jack Birch; Keith and wife Olga Whitmoyer and his very special friend, Betty Coffey.
A memorial service was conducted on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 12:00 Noon from the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 N. Main Street, Muncy with Gregory L. Molter, pastor of St. Paul’s Emmanuel United Methodist Church at Danville, officiating.
Friends called on Saturday from 11:00 – 12:00 at the funeral home.
