Charles W. Gray
Charles W. Gray, 70, of Muncy, died Thursday, April 26, 2018.
Born February 27, 1948 in Washingtonville, he was a son of the late Roland E. and Esther A. (Strouse) Gray. His wife of 45 years, the former Rhoda Ann Weakland, preceded him in death on October 10, 2015.
Charles served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. He was a hardworking man, and worked as a truck driver for over 40 years. Throughout those years, he was employed by McCormick Drayline Motor Express, Jevic Motor Express, New Century Motor Express, Branch Motor Express, and Atwood Fabrics. He was member of the Muncy VFW, and the Messiah Lutheran Church, Clarkstown. Charles enjoyed gardening, and maintaining his wife’s flower beds.
He is survived by three sons, Daniel Thomas (Joann) Gray of Danville, Scott Bradly (Nikki) Gray of Jacksonville, NC, and Walter Rudolph (Tracey) Gray of Bellvue, NE; three sisters, Debra Belleman of Muncy, Alice Presser of TX, and Sara Jane Charles of Montgomery; two brothers, Frank Gray of Muncy and Donald Gray of Montgomery; five grandchildren, Paige Victoria Gray, Virginia Rose Gray, Sarah Ann Haskell, Stephen Gray, and Riley Gray; and three great-grandchildren, Adam Haskell, Garrett Gray, and Braylon Gray.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim, Dorance, and Roland Gray; and four sisters, Lottie Laidecker, Ina Gordner, Ruth Ann Flick, and Mary Ellen Deihl.
A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water Street, Hughesville. Friends may call from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
