Nelson H. “Sticker” Lowe, Jr.

Nelson H. “Sticker” Lowe, Jr., 93, of Water St., Muncy and of Wolf Run Assisted Living, Hughesville for the past two years, died Thursday, June 13, 2019 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport.

Born September 11, 1925 in Muncy, he was a son of the late Nelson H. and Mary L. (Whipple) Lowe. On July 18, 1954 he married the former, Jean A. Stiger. Together they celebrated 63 years of marriage until her passing Dec. 13, 2017.

Sticker worked as an assembler at the former Sprout-Waldron, now Andritz for almost 50 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club.

He served honorably with the U S Navy during World War II and was a member of the Bower Decker American Legion Post 251, Montgomery and the Roland Ritter Post 268 American Legion, Muncy, where he also served as past commander. Sticker was also a member of the Edward Smith Post 3428 VFW, the Muncy Lodge No. 299 F & AM, the Williamsport Consistory, the 40 & 8 S.O.L. Club, the Grotto 1304, S. Williamsport and the Loyal Order of Moose #866 Muncy Valley. He was a past member of the Muncy Fire Company.

He was of the Baptist faith.

An avid outdoorsman, Sticker enjoyed hunting and was a member of the Warrensville Hunting Club. He was fond of collecting coins. Most of all, Sticker loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, including many summers at their river lot, where he tended to his garden and peddled his veggies to the neighbors.

Surviving are five children, Valerie A. Rowan, of Carson City, NV, Melanie L. Rupert and her husband, John, of Dallas, Connie J. Entz and her husband, Mark, of Montgomery, Todd N. Lowe, of Hughesville and Marc C. Lowe and his wife, Traci, of Muncy; a sister, Janet C. Watts, of Muncy; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Sarah, Cory, Ashlee and Allyson; and five great-grandchildren, Kailyn, Cameron, Adalia, Aurora and Jaxon.

In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by a son-in-law, Tony Rowan; six brothers, Robert W., Max D., Paul S., Nile, Donald F. and Mac D. Lowe, Sr.; and three sisters, Edna B. Dubois, Lois Waldman and Sylvia L. Lyons.

Friends were received from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral was held at 11 a.m. Monday.

Burial with full military honors followed in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.

The family provided the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the Edward J. Smith Post 3428 V.F.W., 12 N. Market St., Muncy, PA 17756.
