Lyvera M. Long
Lyvera M. Long, 87, of Muncy, went to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Valley View Nursing Center.
Born August 17, 1936, in Millville, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Ocie Holdren (Worthington). Lyvera attended the Pleasant View Wesleyan Church and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She graduated from Millville High School in 1954, and the former Williamsport Technical Institute (now Pennsylvania College of Technology) in 1955. Lyvera worked at Avco, Williamsport from 1955 to 1958, and retired from Andritz (formally Sprout Waldron) in Muncy after more than 39 years of employment. She was a member of the Quarter Century Club, Senior Citizen 39+ Club, and was treasurer for many years. Lyvera loved walking, gardening, canning, freezing, baking, and cooking.
She is survived by a son, Ronald E. (LeAnn) Dunkleberger of Muncy; a granddaughter, Brianne (James) Foster of Lakewood Ranch, FL; two grandsons, Riley Dunkleberger of Williamsport, and Grant Dunkleberger of Hillsgrove; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Miriam Weaver of Millville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald E. Dunkleberger who passed away in August of 1959; her second husband, Miles L. Long in October of 2018; and a sister, Gertrude Watkins.
A public viewing will be held Tuesday, March 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. A private burial will take place at New Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg.
