Baseball

Montgomery 6, Bucktail 4

Freshman Garrett Shnyder tripled as Montgomery defeated Bucktail, 6-4. Top Montgomery hitters: Worthington, 3-4, HR, 2b, 3b, 3 RBI; Cam Kriner, 2b; Garrett Shnyder, 3b. Top Bucktail hitters: Smith, 3-4.

Montgomery 4, Lewisburg 3

Top Montgomery hitters: Worthington, 3b, 2 RBI; Seth Winder, 1-3, 2 runs; Cam Kriner, 1-4, 2 RBI.

Muncy 11, Benton 5

Matt Ring and Tyler Ruby each smacked three hits as Muncy topped Benton, 11-5. Top Muncy hitters: Nate Fox, 2-4, 2b; Matt Ring, 3-4, 2b; Tyler Ruby, 3-4.

Muncy 12, CMVT 2

In baseball, Muncy received home runs from Tyler Ruby and Nate Fox as it defeated Columbia Montour Vo-Tech, 12-2. Top Muncy hitters: Tyler Barto 2-2, 2 2B, Tyler Ruby 2-3, HR (2-run, 4th), Fox 2-4, HR (solo, 6th)

Hughesville 5, Central 2

Mike Hanner improved to 10-0 on the season and Hughesville tied the school record for wins in a season with 15 with a 5-2 win over Central Columbia. Hughesville finished the regular season with a 15-5 record, tying the 1992 team with 15 wins. Top Hughesville hitters: Levi Oden, 2-run HR; Ethan Showers, 2-3, RBI; Taylor Falk, 1-1; Bryce Pardoe, 2-3; Aaron Snyder, 1-3, 2 RBI.

Softball

Muncy 8, Bloomsburg 2

On Senior Recognition Night it was upper classmen who came through. Senior Lori Incitti pitched a complete game while striking out eleven and senior Samantha Foote continued her season long power hitting smashing a triple off the top of the fence in dead centerfield and also knocking in two runs and senior captain Kelsi Chuprinski had two hits including a scorching double and knocked in two runs while gunning a runner out at second and playing flawlessly behind the plate. As a portent of things to come, junior captain Rachel Harer went 3 – 3 with 2 runs knocked in and has now gone 8 for 8 since starting to wear glasses. Top Muncy hitters: Samantha Foote, 2-3, 3b, 2 RBI; Rachel Harer, 3-3, 2 RBI; Chuprinski, 2-3, 2b, 2 RBI.

Muncy 3, Millville 1

Muncy used freshman Hannah Cole’s power to knock off Millville 3 – 1. Cole drove the first pitch of the game to deep left centerfield for her fourth homerun of the season and followed that with a long double in the third to provide all the offense Muncy would need. Lori Incitti pitched a five-hitter with nine strikeouts to earn her 16th win of the season. With the win, Muncy moves to 17 – 1 (14 – 0, Heartland Conference III) on the season.Top Muncy hitters: Hannah Cole 3-3, HR, 2B. Muncy 17-1, 14-0 HAC III

Montgomery 16, Neumann 1

Montgomery opened with a 7-run inning in a 16-1 win over Neumann. Top Montgomery hitters: Drick 2-3, 2B, 2 runs; Loryn Kennedy 3-3, 2B, 2RBI; Warzel 2-3, 3RBI.

Montgomery 16, Sullivan County 0

Montgomery scored 14 of its 16 runs in the second inning and Kaitlin Ryan pitched a three-inning no-hitter as the Red Raiders beat Sullivan County, 16-0. Top Montgomery hitters: Rebecca Hite 2-2, 3 runs, Loryn Kennedy 2-3, 3 runs, 2b, 2 RBI

Hughesville 8, Mt. Carmel 3

Hughesville allowed Mount Carmel to take a 3-0 lead after one inning but battled back for an 8-3 win. Kelsey Ritter blanked Mount Carmel over the final six innings and added three hits. Megan Miller had a 2-run inside-the-park home run in the sixth. Top Hughesville hitters: Ritter 3-4, 2b, Hess 2-4, 3 RBI, Kristin Britton 2-4, Megan Miller inside-the-park HR (2-run, 6th)
