Former Muncy All-Around Athlete Named Scholar Athlete

After a stellar four-year, three sport career at Muncy High School, Jordan Rishel continued as one of the very few two-sports stars while attending NCAA-Division II Mansfield University. As an Indian, Jordan made All Conference teams in field hockey, softball and basketball. She established school records in all three sports including breaking the 1000 point mark in basketball.
Heading off to Mansfield University she continued her athletic career as a scholarship athlete in field hockey and softball. As difficult as it is to play one major sport and maintain high academic standards, Jordan was doing two sports and still demanding high a great deal from herself.
As a freshman, Jordan was honored as a scholar-athlete in field hockey. Now Mansfield President Maravene Loeschke and Director of Athletics Roger Maisner have announced that Jordan Rishel of Muncy has been named a Presidential Scholar Athlete. She will be honored at a special luncheon on November 5th. The announcement from President Loeschke and AD Maisner states that the luncheon is to honor and recognize the student-athletes who have shown a high level of academic performance.
Both Mansfield University and Muncy high school are proud of Jordan’s accomplishments.
