Muncy Grapplers Place First at Midd-West Duals

Muncy won five matches by an average of more than 40 points to win the Midd-West Duals on Saturday. The Indians defeated Wallenpaupack (47-22), Midd-West (57-24), Elk Lake (57-16), Schuylkill Haven (75-0) and Newport (53-18).
David Hawley and Brandon Yohn each picked up four wins for Muncy, and Skyler Ebner won all five of his matches. Ryan Hembury lost his first match of the season when he was pinned by Midd-West’s Chris Baker, a regional qualifier a year ago. Hembury was leading 10-0 when he was trying to lock up a cradle on Baker. Baker slipped out of the hold and caught Hembury on his back for the fall. Record: Muncy (7-0). Montgomery 3-2 at Midd-West Duals
Montgomery went 3-2 at the Midwest Duals, defeating Newport 42-30, Schuylkill Haven 63-6 and Midd-West 45-33 while losing to Wallenpaupack 39-33 and Elk Lake 39-28.
