Pennsdale resident named to all district football team

East Stroudsburg University red shirt sophomore offensive lineman Zach Sarginger was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II football second team. Zach is majoring in secondary education and mathematics. He started this fall at right guard, providing protection for the PSAC’s top-ranked passing offense (265.8 ypg). The Academic All-District teams are nominated and selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America. District II includes all Division II and III institutions in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Washington D. C. and West Virginia. The Director of Sports Information for East Stroudsburg University is Greg Knowlden. Knowlden and Sarginger are Muncy High School graduates. Sarginger is one of 15 PSAC student-athletes recognized on the ESU football team, and one of two ESU football players recognized by ESPN. ESU’s football team qualified for the NCAA National Division II playoffs, with an 8-3 season this past fall. Their final loss was to Edinboro.
Zach is the son of Rick and Sue Sarginger, Pennsdale.
