Referee, George Taylor, counts the wings that were eaten by the Muncy and Hughesville teams.

The first annual wing eating contest was held last Wednesday evening Nov. 3 at the Spartan Club in Hughesville. Known as the Ultimate Rivalry, it was held to highlight the Muncy vs. Hughesville football game. Muncy and Hughesville football teams competed against each other to see who could eat the most wings. The Muncy team won and consumed 59 wings against their Hughesville rival team who came in one wing shy at 58.

Owners of the Spartan Pub, David Taylor and Freddy Cocrum said they plan on making this an annual event, and include members of both cheerleading squads to compete as well.
