Hughesville’s Torey Hollis captured the gold medal at the PIAA State Championships over the weekend in the Class AA 100 hurdles finishing the race in a time of 15.10. The PIAA state champion entered as the top seed in the Class AA 100 hurdles at a time of 15.14 at Shippensburg’s Seth Grove Stadium.

Hollis ran perfect races as she ran the preliminaries in 15.01 and having the top time in the semifinals before winning the 100 hurdles by 3-tenths of a second.

The Hughesville senior will graduate in a couple of weeks and will head to Kutztown University on a partial track and field scholarship.
