Warrior Run 14, Muncy 6
The Muncy Indians were defeated this past Friday night against Warrior Run, 14-6. Muncy nearly rallied from 14 down as Chris Secules broke free for a 69-yard touchdown with 9:50 remaining, making it 14-6. The Muncy defense forced two three-and-outs but Ryan Hemrick intercepted a pass and Warrior Run forced a punt on ensuing Indian drives. Secules ended the game with 9 carries, and 109 yards.
Muncy’s Tyler Moyle and Jake Colburn combined for three sacks. Clayton Good had nine tackles and freshman Scott Appleman had two sacks on Warrior Run’s first two possessions.
Spartans Defeated by Wildcats
Athens 17, Hughesville 7
At Friday’s homecoming game against undefeated Athens, and despite outrushing the Wildcats 251-131 and holding onto the ball for a majority of the second half in which it trailed, the Spartans fell to Athens 13-7.
Sam Hunter led the Spartans with 129 yards on 19 rushes and he scored Hughesville’s only touchdown. Quinton Cooper ran for 71 yards on 16 carries but also lost a fumble late in the fourth quarter that stopped a Spartan drive inside the Athens 15-yard line. Alec Walter also ran for 48 yards.
