Brett Diehl, a 2011 graduate of Hughesville High School, was honored and presented a plaque along with his picture to be added to the “Wall of Fame” at Hughesville High School. Diehl was named 2nd Team All State in 2011. He was 7-2 on the mound with a 1.41 ERA in 55 innings of work with 63 strikeouts. Offensively, Brett hit .425 with seven doubles, eight home runs, 32 RBIs. 26 runs scored and seven stolen bases. Brett’s performance throughout the season earned him the following honors – Heartland Athletic Conference II 1st Team Pitcher, 1st Team Infielder, and Player of the Year. In addition, Brett was named ESPN Williamsport Player of the Year, Sun Gazette Player of the Year, and Hughesville’s Most Valuable Player.
