Muncy 54, Hughesville 30

Muncy captured its second straight tournament crown this past Saturday night defeating Hughesville, 54-30.

The tournament’s MVP Brianna McLaughlin scored 15 points and had seven steals while teammate Jordan Jones added seven more steals. Gina Paisley scored 11 points and Crystal Good scored nine points, grabbed 13 rebounds, made six assists and had eight steals as Charity Good had seven points, 11 rebounds and two steals.

The Indians kept the pressure on the Lady Spartans all evening and forced 21 first-quarter turnovers. Muncy’s offense made a 16-0 run in just 2 minutes, 20 seconds and led 16-3 at that point. By half-time, Muncy had 20 steals.

Hughesville’s All-tournament selection Hannah James finished the game with eight rebounds while Kaitlyn Peterman scored seven points and made three steals.
