Nixon advanced to the fifth-place bout after defeating Fry in overtime before dropping to Nick Monico of Saegertown.

Fry wrestled five matches which three of those matches went into either the tie-break or rideout including one on Saturday in his seventh-place consolation match with Biglerville’s Nate Newberry.

Angelo Barberio, Muncy, went 1-2 in Hershey. Barberio was defeated in the first round at the 113-pound weight class dropping him to the consolation bracket. There, Barberio won his first match by major decision defeating Tyler Alberts of Elwood City before being eliminated in the third round.

Fry and Nixon were two of the three District 4 wrestlers to bring home a medal at 145 pounds. Southern Columbia’s Kent Lane won the 145 title. All three came out of the Heartland Conference Division III, and both Fry and Nixon said the grind they went through each of the last three weeks was great preparation for the state tournament.
