Strike-out game for cancer

The Lady Spartans held their “Strike-Out Cancer game last Wednesday and dedicated the game to Tanya Diaz Neenan, of Hughesville, a cancer patient. Brianna Stroup, a senior member of the softball team, told Neenan she would get a hit for her. Not only did Stroup keep her promise, she hit a three-run triple that won the game for the Spartans defeating Southern Columbia, 8-4.

A bake sale took place during the game and $80 was raised. The team is also putting together a stand at Relay for Life to raise more money.
