Morgan Craft wins silver in women’s skeet
Morgan Craft, of Muncy Valley, fought her way through three shootoffs to score her best international result and a silver medal in women’s skeet on Aug. 8 at the International Shooting Sport Federation World Cup in Gabala, Azerbaijan.
Following qualification, Craft had to earn the sixth and last spot in the final through a shootoff against Francissca Crovetto Chadid, of Chile, who she would go on to beat 2-1.
In the semifinal, Craft once again was forced into a shootoff situation to determine who would move on to the gold-medal match after she and Aleksandra Jarmolinska, of Poland, finished the round tied with 14/16 targets. Craft again won the shootoff, 13-11.
In the gold-medal match, the 16 regulation targets were not enough to decide the winner as Craft and Katiuscia Spada, of Italy, would tie at 15 targets each. Spada eventually took the gold medal as she bested Craft in the shootoff, 4-3. Amber Hill, of Great Britain, won the bronze medal.
