Hughesville edges Montoursville

RUTH FRY/The Luminary Paige Ramin pitched a complete game in Montoursville last Thursday and hit the go-ahead RBI single to defeat the Warriors.

Hughesville faced a three-run, second-inning deficit, and rallied in the sixth and seventh to pick up the win defeating the Warriors, 5-4. Emily Watts went 3 for 4 with three RBIs and hit a game-tying, seventh-inning double while Paige Ramin pitched a complete game and hit the go-ahead RBI single. Freshman shortstop Megan Ryder went 4 for 4 and hit a sixth-inning RBI single making it 4-3. Sophomore Shayna Ragan scored that run after dropping a perfect drag bunt single. Watts had hit an RBI single and RBI double in the third and fifth innings, making it a two-run game. Ellie Watts finished the game going 2 for 4 and ignited the game-winning seventh-inning rally with a double. Her sister, Emily, scored her a batter later, hitting a game-tying double to deep left field. Freshman Taryn Lambert sacrifice bunted Watts to third, Ramin followed with an RBI as Hughesville took the lead in the top of the seventh. Kaitlyn Hauck was 2 for 4 for the night, and Ramin allowed just one run over the last five innings. Seven different players had hits totaling 14 by the end of the night.

Haley Gyurina scored the winning run in the third-inning off of a Kat Ebner suicide squeeze as Muncy improved to 6-0 on the year with a 3-0 victory over Benton. Ebner earned her sixth win of the year on

the mound and Lyndsi Stugart added two hits for Muncy.

Hannah Myers was 3 for 3 and Annabelle Bergey finished 3 for 4 as the Lady Indians defeated the Raiders in six innings, 13-3.

Kat Ebner led Muncy with a two-run home run but Warrior Run got the edge defeating the Indians, 3-2.

Montgomery rallied from behind and scored eight runs defeating CMVT, 10-7. Hannah Bryson earned the win and allowed only two hits over the final five innings. Amanda Kilps led the Raiders with two hits and two RBIs, and Lexi McHenry finished with a double and two runs scored for the Raiders.
