Warrior Run scored their final touchdown late in the second quarter with a 40-yard touchdown run as the Defenders defeated Montgomery, 21-13.

South Wmspt. 31, Muncy 7

Muncy tied the game 7-7 on Mike Kustanbauter’s 1-yard touchdown with 1:28 remaining in the half, but the Mounties returned the ensuing kickoff 61 yards to the Indians 29-yard line. Two plays later, South, before halftime, scored another touchdown making it 14-7. The Indians never scored again as South defeated Muncy, 31-7.

Muncy’s defense did slow South’s running game and played physical, stopping the Mounties on three consecutive drives before tying the game. Adam Dietrick had eight tackles and in interception. Muncy sophomore quarterback Coleman Good threw for 111 yards. Good threw a ball down the right sideline to Dylan Wilt making the 31-yard gain.

Montoursville 38, Hughesville 35

Montoursville threw for 307 yards and four touchdowns Saturday at Hughesville edging the Spartans, 38-35.

With little over minute to go of the game Hughesville recovered a fumble and drove 57 yards in seven plays with Landon Henry hitting Ryan McClain for a 10-yard touchdown pass. A two-point conversion made it 38-35 but only 16.5 seconds remained. Hughesville recovered the ensuing onside kick but the recovery was wiped away by a chop block penalty. Kicking from the 30-yard line, Gage Avery again recovered the onside kick for the Spartans who took over at their 41 with 13.2 seconds left. A pass interference penalty and an 8-yard Ori Shaner to Henry pass gave Hughesville a final chance from the Warrior 36-yard line. Henry threw a Hail Mary pass into the middle of the end zone, but Montoursville knocked the pass down.

Henry threw for 199 yards and four touchdowns, and Patrick Rogers caught two of them. Ryan McClain scored 0n an 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. The Spartans cut the deficit to 21-20 when Henry found Rogers for a 6-yard touchdown. Julian Brehm caught a 66-yard touchdown in the third quarter that made it 31-27.
