Muncy senior scores big during Rotary game

PHOTO PROVIDED Muncy's Makenna Snyder was selected to the all-tournament team following the championship game at the 20th Annual Muncy Rotary Girls Basketball Classic this past Saturday night.

Wellsboro 52, Muncy 31

Isabella Fave cut the deficit down to nine points in the third quarter for the Indians but Wellsboro quickly responded and never let the Indians get that close again as the Hornets won the first round, 52-31, and eventually won the championship game at the Muncy Rotary Classic Basketball Tournament.

Makenna Snyder led Muncy with 15 points and eight rebounds while Fave scored nine points, grabbed six rebounds and had two assists. Kassidi Lenhart added seven points. Snyder was selected All-Tournament team along with four other players from Wellsboro and Northwest.

Muncy fell to Shippensburg in the in the consolation game, and the Hornets defeated Northwest for the title.

Jersey Shore came out on top with a 63-49 win over the Lady Spartans. Jayden Leighow led Hughesville with 13 points while Alisha McKinley 10.

Reily Fry led Montgomery with 11 points but the Red Raiders were outscored in the first half 35-6 as the Mounties clinched the win, 61-27.
