At the King of the Mountain championship on Sunday Muncy’s Jacob Blair captured the 113-pound weight class. Blair defeated New Jersey state qualifier Cullen Day of Phillipsburg in the semifinals, 4-3, before defeating Mifflin County state eighth-place finisher Christian Fisher in the final, 4-1. Blair went 5-0 in the tournament as the No. 2 seed.

Muncy’s Hunter Poust finished second at 220 pounds as 14 local wrestlers. Central Mountain finished third in the team standings with seven placewinners and 141 points. Chestnut Ridge won the team title with 168.5 points. Muncy’s Joe Klock took fourth place at 138, and Mike Kustanbauter was fourth at 182.

Red Raiders beat Mounties

Red Raiders recorded four first-period falls defeating South Williamsport, 65-15, in their season opener. Montgomery won six of the contest bout with bonus points.

Freshman Elijah Alexander scored a quick takedown and quickly got the pin in 35 seconds. Terez Sewell followed with half-nelson for a fall in 1:35 at 126 pounds. Jensen Drick and Hudson Werner also got falls in 36 seconds and 1:04, respectively.
