Indians win third straight District Title

Muncy 21, Canton 16

Ross Eyer returned an interception for a touchdown as Muncy captured their third straight district championship, edging Canton, 21-16, Saturday at Miller A. Moyer Stadium. Muncy has won four district titles in five years.

Branson Eyer ran for 109 yards, and Ethan Gush added 107, going over 100 in a second straight final. Gush had 12 tackles and leads the area. The defense came up with big stops and the Indians have not allowed 20 points in their four district championship wins.

Muncy will play District 3 champion Steelton-Highspire this weekend at a District 3 site to be determined.

Colton Yocum led the Spartans rushing 55 yards on 16 carries but Lewisburg stopped Hughesville from scoring defeating them, 21-0. The Spartans will host Montgomery on Friday night at 7 p.m.
