Muncy 11, Bucktail 1, 5 innings

Max Rymsza struck out nine in four innings while helping Muncy defeat Bucktail, 11-1 in five innings. Rymsza also hit a home run in the win. Branson Eyer and Kaydn Berry each hit doubles and Alex Maioriana went 2 for 3.

Branson Eyer threw a one-hit shutout, including six strikeouts, as Muncy defeated CMVT, 10-0, in six innings. Gio Persun had three hits for the Indians, including a double and triple, and Chase Crawley had two hits.

Ross Eyer homered and Max Rymsza earned his fourth win as the Indians clinched a Class AA playoff berth and defeated Millville, 10-6. The Indians had 14 hits as Eyer went 3 for 4, and Gio Persun, Branson Eyer, Loudon Boring and Kaydn Berry all had two hits. Chase Crawley closed out the win with a scoreless seventh inning.

RUTH FRY/The Luminary Muncy’s Chase Crawley takes the mound in the third inning against South Williamsport.

Ross Eyer was 3-3 with a run, and Branson Eyer went 2-4 with an RBI, but South took the lead in the first inning scoring four runs and never looked back defeating the Indians, 13-5.

Montgomery is playoff-bound wining a doubleheader against Sugar Valley, 12-2 and 10-0 in five innings. The Red Raiders will be competing in the Class AA for the first time. Noah Gearhart and Colby Springman each earned wins and both had two hits in the first game. Springman added four RBIs. Kevin Wetlauffer drove in two runs that game and Thayden Miller hit an RBI double. Miller was 2 for 2 with two RBIs in the second game and Austin Kuhn and Mason Schreiber both doubled.

St. John Neumann 7, Montgomery 5

St. John Neumann rallied from a run down to defeat the Raiders, 7-5. In the loss Austin Kuhn had two hits for Montgomery and Colby Springman hit an RBI double.

Colby Springman threw a three-inning no-hitter and went 2 for 2 with three RBIs as Montgomery blanked Bucktail, 20-0 in three innings. Montgomery scored 11 first-inning runs and had nine hits in two at-bats. Noah Gearhart went 2 for 2 with three runs, Caleb Hall hit a two-run double and Kaide Drick and Thayden Miller each had two RBIs.

Swank Brenden Knight, Carter Cowburn and Dylon Pequignot all had two hits. Cowburn and Pequignot each had four RBIs, and Clayton Poust scored three times.
