Hughesville 42, Montgomery 0

Hughesville had 233 offensive yards, and the defense held the line of scrimmage to just four first downs winning their season opener by blanking Montgomery, 42-0. The Spartans led 10-0 at the half on the first of two Luke Kaiser touchdown passes, one to Haydn Maneval, and a field goal. They opened the second half with a 57-yard Angelo Ferrigno touchdown run, the first of four third-quarter scores. Ferrigno added a 5-yard touchdown reception later on. Aiden Bartlett intercepted two passes, returning one for a 30-yard touchdown. Landen King returned a fumble 12 yards for another score, and his blocked punt set up Luke Stuztman’s 10-yard touchdown. Ferrigno led Hughesville with 79 yards on 8 rushes. Kaiser completed 10 of 15 passes for 142 yards to seven different receivers.

Branson Eyer went 8 for 11 for 129 yards and threw five touchdown passes, three to Ross Eyer, who had 53 yards, as Muncy routed Warrior Run, 56-6, in their season opener. Muncy had 274 rushing yards and outgained Warrior Run in total yards, 403-144. Jacob Fowler rushed for 109 yards, Elijah Weikel ran for 47, and Austin Johnson and Branson Eyer both ran for 27. Dominick Gardini also ran for 59 on nine carries. The Indians were leading the Defenders 49-6 at halftime.
