PIAA District 4 Class AA Results

Central Section Tournament -Top 4 advance to districts

Montgomery’s Brandt Harer stepped his way to the top of the podium in the D4 Central Sectional Tournament after defeating returning state place winner, Branden Wentzel, a senior from Montoursville. Brandt won his first title winning the 121 weight class by a major decision of 11-0. Also winning their weight class was his brother, returning state champion, Conner Harer (152), and Caden Finck (172). Other place winners advancing to the district tournament are Manny Stolzfus (107) 4th; and Carden Wagner (114) 2nd; Seth McClintock (127) 3rd; Coy Bryson (160) 3rd.

Muncy had three champions moving on-Gage Swank winning the 107-weight class, Scott Johnson (133), and Austin Johnson (215). Swank won the finals by defeating Seth Kolb of Benton, 7-0. Returning state champion, Scott Johnson, defeated Hughesville’s Caiden Puderbach by a major decision of 17-5; and returning state runner-up, Austin Johnson, pinned Ryan Casella of South Williamsport in 1:38. Also advancing from Muncy finishing in the top four spots were Paxton Derr (139) and

Hughesville has five wrestlers advancing- Chase Shaner winning the 114-sectional title defeating Montgomery’s Carden Wagner, 8-7; Caiden Puderbach (133) finished second; Conor Knight, (139), 3rd; Keagan Smith, (152) 4th; Wyatt Gavitt (160) 4th.

Top 6 advance to NE Regionals

The District 4 two-day tournament was held this past weekend in Williamsport with several from the tri-town area advancing to the upcoming NE Regional tournament which will start this Friday night in Williamsport. Muncy had three district champions, Gage Swank (107); Scott Johnson (133) (capturing his third district title); and Austin Johnson (215). Paxton Derr (139) will also join his teammates after finishing fifth. Montgomery also had three champions with Brandt Harer (121); Connor Harer (152) winning his third title; and Caden Finck (172). Also advancing from Montgomery are Coy Bryson (160)-3rd place; Manny Stoltzfus, (107), fifth place; and Carden Wagner, (114), fifth place. Hughesville has two advancing following their third-place wins-Chase Shaner (114) and Caiden Puderbaugh (133).
