D4 Class AAA Playoffs
Semi-finals:
Hughesville 8,
Warrior Run 1
Hughesville defeated Warrior Run, 8-1, last Tuesday in the District 4 Class AAA semifinals and advanced to the championship game at Bowman field on Friday taking on Central Columbia for the title. (Game results were not available due to press time.) Austin Gray threw 5 1/3 innings, Jed Webb closed it out and eight different players had hits including an inside-the-park home run courtesy of Gage Thomas which produced three runs.. Thomas’s home-run came in the two-out fourth inning.
Carter Cowburn hit a two-run double and Eli Olshefskie a two-run single to make it 8-1, and Hughesville hit 5 for 8 with runners in scoring position. Catcher Tyler Wetzel, who threw out a runner at second in a scoreless game, Aiden Barlett and Mason Hoppes all delivered two hits.
After Webb induced a grounder for the game’s final out.

South Williamsport 3, Muncy 0
The Indians season came to an end last Wednesday following their loss in the District 4 Class AA semi-final game last Wednesday to the Mounties, 3-0. Muncy senior, Ross Eyer, struck out 12 batters in 4 2/3 innings, reaching his season high in strikeouts, and scattered three hits while stranding six base runners through the first three innings. Eyer had reached the 105-pitch limit, and an inning later, South scored three times.
As Muncy’s baseball season comes to a close, they had repeated as Mid-Penn champion, ran its league winning streak to 32 games and nearly reached a second straight district final.

Muncy 3, Troy 2
Stiles Eyer and Ross Eyer each had a hit and an RBI as Muncy edged Troy 3-2. Ross Eyer threw a complete game and struck out 10 in the win as they advance to the semi-finals. In the last two innings Eyer twice stranded the go-ahead runners with consecutive strikeouts. Muncy trailed 1-0 after the first inning but tied it in the second and scored twice in the third to take a 3-1 lead. The Indians scored two of their three runs with two outs and Kamerer helped Muncy tie the game with a one-out single in the second before Liam Adams hit a sacrifice fly.

Quarterfinals:
Canton 7,
Montgomery 2
Canton combined on a four-hitter as the Warriors defeated Montgomery, 7-2 in the Class AA semifinal. Caleb Hall hit a two-run double putting Montgomery up 2-0, but Canton scored three runs in the bottom of the first and did not allow another run. In the loss Lucas Dietrich went 2 for 3 and Connor Puderbach added a single. Montgomery closes its season at 13-8.
