Teacher Appreciation Week was celebrated at the three East Lycoming Elementary Schools with style. Each school’s parent group had their own way of giving thanks to the teachers. Home baked goods, cards, flowers, gifts, special notes from the students, contests, breakfast treats, and catered luncheons all were given as expressions of thanks.

For example, at the Ashkar Elementary school, the staff and students had the opportunity to participate in a special “Through The Years” themed week. Monday’s Dress in 50’s style was the kickoff. Tuesday followed with the 60’s, Wednesday the 70’s, and Thursday ended the costumes with the 80’s. Each morning started out with two trivia questions from the particular era for staff members to answer. They had ten minutes to send the correct answers to the office. Two names were then drawn from all correct entries to receive prizes. The contest was a lot of fun!

During the week many comments of gratitude and thanks were expressed by the staffs of Ashkar, Ferrell, and Renn for all of the parent’s time and efforts to make Teacher Appreciation Week a wonderful and memorable experience.
