East Lycoming Arts Festival
The annual East Lycoming All-District Arts Festival will be held May 13 and 14 at the Hughesville High School from 7 to 9 p.m. Elementary art teacher, Lynn Stola, and Jr/Sr High art teachers. Steve Buggy and Rick Mahonski will have their students’ work on display in the gymnasium. In addition seniors attending college to study art will be honored with their own display tables.
Choral programs will also be offered each evening in the auditorium. On Wednesday, the Ferrell and Renn Elementary choruses under the direction of Pamela Lam will open the festival. The Junior-Senior High choruses will then take the stage with “Sing, Sing”” as their theme. Under the direction of Joy Barto, groups performing include: Junior High Chorus, Spartan Singers, Junior County Singers, Cadenza, Chamber Singers, Gentlemen Singers, and Senior High Choir.
Thursday, May 14, will feature the Ashkar Elementary Chorus under the direction of Miss Lamb. Beginning at 7 p.m, both concerts will be held in the auditorium. The public is cordially invited to attend this festival, as together we celebrate the arts.
