Pennsdale Needlework Guild
The Pennsdale Branch of NGA, Inc. will hold its annual ingathering on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 2-4 p.m. at the Pennsdale Quaker Meeting House. The branch was formed in 1891, making this the 117th year.
NGA, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides T.L.C. – new “T” oiletries (personal care items ) “L” inens (blankets, afghans, pillows, sheets, towels/washables) and “C” lothing (baby, children, teens and adults) to disadvantaged individuals.
The mission of NGA,Inc. is to improve the quality of life for economically disadvantaged individuals in the United States by collecting and distributing gifts of new clothes, linens and personal care items to them, thus being New Clothes for New Tomorrows.
This is a unique organization that provides only new items. Members believe that something new gives the person a sense of dignity and self-respect.
Members meet only once a year but help all year long. To join, just five two new items of clothing, linens, and personal care products. The guild distributes throughout the whole year whenever there is a need.
Most people think of helping others on a few special occasions during the year, like back-to-school, or the holiday seasons, but what about the rest of the year? Aren’t the needs just as great other times of the year?
The Guild supports and provides the local agencies: Lycoming/Clinton Joinder Board (Lycoming County Children and Youth Service) and the Williamsport Salvation Army and other needs upon request.
The local branch officers are: Patricia E. Lamoreaux, president; Jane Waldman, first vice-president; June Harris, second vice-president; Janet Mcmanigal, treasurer; Nancy Bargard, secretary.
Please help make this year another success, it is only you that can make the difference. Any questions, call 546-6230.
