Winter Chorus Concerts at Muncy
As a part of the annual celebration of “Music is Our Schools Month,” the Muncy School District Choruses will offer two concerts. The Muncy Junior-Senior High Choruses will present their annual “Winter Concert” on Tuesday evening, March 3, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. in the Muncy High School Auditorium. Selections for the program will include the Junior High Chorus singing A Joyfuyl Song by Lightfoot, Wayfarin’ Stranger arranged by Spevacek and Music Speaks arranged by Beck. The Junior High Honors Chorus will sing Hakuna Matata Fi Kenya by Simms. The Senior High Chorus will sing In the Arms of Winter by Schram and Parker, Gaudeamus Hodie by Rentz and the Kirby Shaw arrangement of Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho. The concert will conclude with the two choruses coming together to sing Let There Be Peace by Beck The Muncy High School Alma Mater.
The Muncy Senior High School Chorus is under the direction of Mrs. Stephanie Reitmeyer. The Muncy Junior High School Chorus is under the direction of Mr. George A. Henry. Mrs. Lucille Buck is the accompanist for the choruses. The public is cordially invited to attend this concert.
The Myers Elementary School Choruses will present a “Musical Celebration” on Wednesday evening, March 4, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. in the Muncy High School Auditorium. The groups performing will be the Sixth Grade Chorus, Fifth Grade Chorus, Fourth Grade Chorus, and the Myers Honors Chorus.
Selections for the program will include the Fourth Grade Chorus singing the patriotic song America, the Beautiful. The Fifth Grade Chorus will sing I Love the Music in my Life by Gilpin and Sansa Kroma arranged by Scott. A Ruth Artman selection entitled Kids are Music and My Own Special Way by Price and Besig will be sung by the Sixth Grade Chorus. The Myers Honors Chorus will sing Dona Ja-Da arranged by Spevacek-Avery and Mansions in the Sky by Strommenn. The Elementary Choruses are under the direction of Mr. George A. Henry. Mrs. Lucille Buck is the accompanist for the choruses. The public is cordially invited to attend this concert.
