MONTGOMERY- Montgomery High School, Virtuoso, will be presenting “Hiding in the Open” this month.

Virtuoso, the Montgomery High School music and theatre ensemble, will be presenting their fall play on Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23 at 7 p.m. in the middle and high school auditorium. Written by Kira Obolensky, “Hiding in the Open” is a drama adapted from the memoir of Sabina Zimering depicting her escape from Nazi Germany. “This play has been one of the most meaningful experiences our students have ever had. They are eager to bring such a powerful story to their audiences,” comments the show’s director.

Virtuoso co-directors, Mrs. Carina McNear and Mrs. Jessica Carpenter are anxious to kick off their 2013/2014 season. They would also like to welcome assistant director and new teacher to the district, Mrs. Melissa Mabus. “Thanks to the students and parents for all of their hard work, time, dedication, and talents.”

Tickets can be purchased at the door but reserved seating is encouraged, and can be reserved by emailing Carina McNear at cmcnear@montasd.org or calling (570) 547-1608 ext. 118.

Virtuoso has been in existence for 15 years, but is in its sixth season as a combined theatre and vocal ensemble. Virtuoso’s most recent performance was “Tarzan” last spring. The group will be presenting “SHREK, the Musical” in April of 2014.
