Muncy FBLA students finish in top 12 at Nationals
MUNCY – Muncy High School placed in the top 12 of 90 teams in the emerging business issues speaking event with the team of Karina Fry, Gavin Wetherhold, and Maggie Rymsza. The students prepared two speeches (affirmative and negative) on the given FBLA topic which was ‘the effectiveness and costs of mobile applications for businesses’. After months of preparation, placing second at both the regional and state conferences and then second in the preliminary round to move onto the final round, Muncy students placed 11th overall in their event.
The award was part of a comprehensive national competitive events program sponsored by FBLA-PBL that recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas.
For many students, the competitive events are the capstone activity of their academic careers. In addition to the competitions, students immersed themselves in educational workshops, visited an information-packed exhibit hall and attended motivational keynotes on a broad range of business topics.
