Art students place in art fest

Hughesville High School held a student art fest on May 6 and 7.

HUGHESVILLE – East Lycoming School District had their spring arts festival on May 6 and May 7. Exhibits were represented from the Art, Computer, Music and S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) departments. It was held in the high school gymnasium and open to the public.

Several of the art students recently had their artwork selected for this year’s Scholastic Art Exhibit at the Packwood House Museum which was also on display. First place in Drawing was Jacob Beamer and Jillian McLuhan; first and second in Painting was Ethan McKenzie and Rebecca Temple, respectively; Tiffanie Peterman placed first in Pottery, and Megan Shaner was first in Jewelry and third was Rebecca Wertz. Honorable Mention went to Taylor Temple for Sculpture and Jordana Wagner for Painting.
