Student artist creates permanent paintings for future classes
MUNCY – Shelby Wertz is a senior at Muncy Junior/Senior High School, and has been creating some wonderful paintings this year in Beth Crissman’s art class for permanent display in the high school, and something to leave behind for the staff and future classes to enjoy.
The insignia that she painted is now hanging above the entrance to Muncy High School.
After graduation, Shelby plans to work, travel and paint. She is deciding on a local college to pursue an education in the art therapy field. She will also be volunteering in the Muncy High School Art Department. Shelby is the daughter of Bob and Leslie Mertz of Muncy. Leslie is also an employee with Muncy School District.
