PICTURE ROCKS – George A. Ferrell Elementary School was awarded as an Exemplary High Performing School receiving the National Blue Ribbon Award for 2018.

National Blue Ribbon Schools have demonstrated consistent excellence, and made progress in closing gaps in student achievement.

The National Blue Ribbon Schools recognition program is part of a larger U.S. Department of Education effort to identify and disseminate knowledge about effective school leadership and promising instructional practices. Representative Garth Everett will be at Ferrell Elementary School on Friday, May 31 at 1 p.m. to congratulate the students. Community and family members are welcome to join the celebration starting at 1p.m. at the Van Rensselaer Park.

Ferrell students will be participating in the Antique Car Parade on Wednesday, June 5 in Hughesville.
