The Muncy Area Lions Club will be collecting Christmas trees in the Muncy and Hughesville areas this year on Jan. 10-11, and on Jan. 17. The trees will be used as small animal habitats by the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
The Lions ask for a small donation to help out with charities. All the money tgoes back into the community for those who are in need. Trees will be collected at the curbside only; if you are not going to be home leave an envelope on your door with the donation. Any questions, contact David Colonie at 570-279-6079.
Theresa Tarquinio is wished a speedy recovery after falling on Christmas day and breaking her ankle. The injury required surgery and Theresa is now recovering at home.
A number of locals attending the Rose Bowl this year on New Year’s Day, featuring Penn State and USC. Sandy and Scott McLean, Kelly and Tanner Gold, Bobbie and Gary Schwenk, Earl and Vonnie Poust and Connie Holtzapple are among the fans who traveled to Pasadena, and Earl Poust received his 15 minutes of fame after being interviewed live during the telecast.
Also receiving his dole of fame, Urie Kline, a student at the University of Pittsburg, and MHS alumni class of 2008 was captured on television during the bowl game that Pitt played in. Urie is a member of the Pitt Panther marching band.

The Rev. Dr. Don Edwards has written a brief study course on the book of James titled A Faith That Works. Although the booklet is provided free of charge, designation donation marked “Book Fund” s may be mailed to St. Andrew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 S. Main St. Muncy.
The monthly meeting of the Muncy Professional and Business Association has been scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 8, at Orlie’s Deli, 7 p.m. Election of officers will take place.
