Hughesville Column

Fun Fact for the Week: The Great Pyramid of Cheops in Egypt is so large that its base would cover 10 football fields.

Pet Peeve for the Week: The uncanny gift I have of always picking the slowest check out line in any store.

Once again the Hughesville Spartan Football team is victorious!! The Spartans defeated Athens 27-14 in the District 4 Class AA quarterfinals. This week the Spartans will take on Loyalsock at home. Good luck boys!

Last week my brother, Jim, and I flew to Florida to visit our cousins and to drive home a 16′ moving truck. I only wish we would have had more time to visit some of the historic sights along the way. Even if you’re short on time or money, in a two-day trip you can visit such places as Washington, D.C., Richmond, Charleston, Savannah, and take in the various cultures of our vast nation. Our trip was uneventful, but filled with lots of laughs and memories. And for all those who have ever driven in the southern region on I-95, Pedro says hello.
