The 39+ club will meet on June 16 at the Hughesville Fire Hall. A music program will be provided by Lyn Houseknecht. Please bring a dish to share for lunch at 11:45 a.m.
Summer Tennis Lessons for pre-school and school-age residents of the East Lycoming School District and surrounding districts begin the week of June 21 at the high school tennis courts. Registration is Thursday, June 17, 5-6:30 p.m. at the courts (or in the foyer is case of rain), or email ambrown55@windstream.net. For questions, contact April Brown at 584-5166.
The Ladies of the Eagles Mere Community church will hold their annual fundraiser on Friday, June 18 from 9-4 p.m. and on Saturday, June 19 from 9-noon.
The second summer reading program at the Hughesville Area Public Library, “Readers Ahoy”, will be held on Saturday, June 19 from 1-3 p.m. Sorties, crafts, puzzles and fun are planned. Please register at the library so that they have enough materials for everyone.
The Farragut United Methodist church hosts its annual Strawberry Festival on June 19 from 4:30-7 p.m. The church is located on Rte. 864 near the intersection with Rte. 87.
The Lairdsville Fire Company will be hosting a Father’s Day special smoked sausage all-you-can-eat breakfast on Sunday, June 20 from 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Adults are $6.50, ages 6-12 $3.00 and under 6 are free.
The fifth annual Joe Young Memorial Scholarship baseball game fundraiser will be held from noon to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 28 at Bodine Park. Three games will be held, one at noon, 12:30 p.m. and 5:30p.m.
A special thank you to our friends Dave and Pam Jones and their neighbors who invited over 80 people to a cruise on the Hiawatha. It was a wonderful evening with good friends and lots of laughs.
