Friday and Saturday, July 30 and 31, beginning at 5 p.m., Old Time Festival at Oak Grove Community Center, 2312 Elimsport Road, Montgomery. Live bands both nights starting at 7 p.m. Games, vendors, good food!
Tuesday, August 3, noon, the Montgomery Area Senior Citizens will meet at St. John Lutheran (Brick) Church, Rt. 405. There will be a catered dinner; reservations can be made by calling Charles Duchman at 547-1160. Health checks will be available prior to the dinner. Please bring table service. Visitors are welcome for the cost of the dinner. The program will be presented by Jane Thompson who will discuss classes on Tai-Chi and its benefit for senior citizens.
Tuesday, August 3, 6 to 8 p.m., 5th Annual National Night Out sponsored by the Watsontown Police Department and the Warrior Run Area Fire Department. Located at the Fire Department across from the Elementary School, Route 405. Come out and meet the police and fire personnel. Live music and refreshments.
Tuesday, August 10, 6:30 p.m., Montgomery borough council meeting will be held at the borough hall, Main Street.
Tuesday, August 10, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 50 East Houston Avenue, Montgomery; the “Montgomery Community Closet” offers free clothing to anyone in the Montgomery School District who has a clothing need. Donations of clean clothing and shoes will also be accepted during this time.
Wednesday, August 11 through Saturday, August 14, Union County Historical Society hosts 7th Annual Rural Heritage Days: Theme is “Making Do” at the Dale/Engle/Walker House, Lewisburg. Wednesday: Children’s Day; noon to 4 p.m.; Thursday: presentation at 7 p.m. by Nada Gray on “Making Do”; Friday: antique auction and auction supper starting at 5 p.m.; Saturday: Grand Family Day; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more info, visit www.unioncountyhistoricalsociety.org
Monday, August 30, first day of school for Montgomery Area School District students.
Saturday, September 11, all day, the 9th Annual 9-11 Memorial Ride will be hosted by the Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Company. Festivities will begin at 10:00 a.m., Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m., vendors, live music, food, beverages; Ride begins at 4:00 p.m; Fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. There is no cost to register for this event but ALL riders MUST register for the thirty-seven mile motorcycle ride through South Williamsport, Williamsport, Pennsdale, Hughesville, Muncy and back to Montgomery.
