Son Light House will be open 10 to noon Aug. 18 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19 for distributions. Donations will be taken Thursday and Saturday mornings 7:30 to 10 a.m.

The Muncy Garden Club will host an event on Thursday, Aug. 19 at St. James Parish Hall along Main Street at 7 p.m. with Sue Morris who will discuss gardening and harvesting by the moon. She will have salves available for purchase and refreshments will be served. Call Lana Newman at 546-3517 for more information.

Eye vision workshops at the Muncy Library 7 to 8:30 p.m. by Vision and Learning Center.

Open House on Main Street Friday, August 20 to showcase new businesses. Stop at 13 S. Main Street to register for door prizes from 5 to 7 p.m.

“7 Pains You Shouldn’t Ignore” will be the topic at the Meck Senior Center on Fitness Drive behind YMCA building on Aug. 20 at 11:30 a.m.

Shoot ’em up at the Cowboy Action Shooting event for breast cancer during their 8th annual Underwear and Benefit Shoot on Aug. 22 starting at 8 a.m. at the North Mountain Sportsmen Association in Muncy Valley. A registration fee is required by calling 946-7837. Admission is free for spectators. Many shooters come dressed in undergarments reflective of the 1800’s.

Aug. 24 make peach pies at the Muncy Valley Senior Center on Rt.220. Call 482-2068.

Open House at Muncy Jr/Sr High School to “re-discover” M.H.S. on Thursday, August 26th, 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Teachers will be available in their classrooms. Extra-curricular club information available in the auditorium followed by Blue White Night at Schuyler Stadium at 7 p.m.

Dental Health for seniors on Aug. 25 at the Meck Center, 50 Fitness Drive starting at 11:45 p.m.

Free cataract screenings offered at Eye Center. August is National Cataract Awareness Month and the Eye Center of Central PA is offering a day of free cataract screenings on Thursday, August 26.

Attend deer camp Aug. 28 and 29 at Gander Mountain from 10 to 4. The season for white tailed deer is on its way and the event is geared to prepare and educate with seminars and vendors. Call 546-1040 for more information or to participate.
