Hughesville events

The Hughesville Spartan football season begins Friday, September 3 with an away game against Warrior Run High School. Start time is 7 p.m. Go Spartans!!

The Unityville United Methodist Church will hold an Old Fashion Festival on Saturday, September 4 starting at 4 p.m. at Salem UM Church, Moreland Baptist Road, Unityville. Proceeds will benefit school scholarships for Rwandan orphans.

Huntersville Area Senior Citizens will meet on Wednesday, September 8 at 6 p.m. at the Huntersville United Methodist Church for a spaghetti dinner and meeting. There will be a slight fee.

The monthly clothing Giveaway at Franklin Bethel United Methodist Church in Unityville will be held on Saturday, September 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a wide range of sizes for men, women, teens and children.

Sept. 11 is Aaron Kelly Day at the Hughesville Fairgrounds from 1:30 to 3:30. Tickets available to see him at the Lycoming County Fairgrounds.

The Friends of the Hughesville Area Public Library invite you to come for the first meeting of the year in the Library’s community room on Monday, September 13 at 7 p.m.

The Hughesville Glen Sharrow American Legion Post 35 Ladies Auxiliary monthly meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the 1st floor meeting room the 2nd Monday of every month. All members and prospective members are welcome.

The Jessica Ann Hicks Bike Road Race and Family Fun Day Festival will be held Saturday, September 18 at Van Rensselar Park in Picture Rocks from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration for the race is 8:30-10 a.m. Lots of fun for everyone.

Congratulations to Airman Tyler J. Robbins on his graduation from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX.
