Main Street in Muncy closed Saturday for Corvette Show
MUNCY – The Muncy Professional and Business Association would like to remind residents that Main Street will be closed for the Corvette and Arts Show on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The red light on the corner of Penn and Main Streets to Mechanic and Main Street will be closed. The street will be filled with Corvettes, raffle drawings, a Kids Zone plus food vendors and 14 artisans.
As courtesy of the Muncy Rotary, the Kids zone will have a 52 foot long Tropical Island with a rock climb, slide, and an obstacle course.
“We will have the streets closed so pedestrians can walk the street to see the arts and the cars,” said Sandy Putney, secretary for MPBA and owner of Embroidery Machine and Sales Service on 13 S. Main Street.
Blaise Alexander will sponsor a racing team and car with a chassis and separate engine on display. Uniformed drivers will be on hand for photo opportunities throughout the day.
Businesses and stores along Main Street will remain open. Car show registration will begin at 9 a.m. and trophies awarded at 3 p.m. Indoor and outdoor vendors will include local artisans and craftspeople on all art forms from jewelry to baskets, photography and more. Providence Engineering will be having an open house and will be displaying some of the artwork.
Entertainment is planned for all ages and four live shows at the Ritz Theatre are going to be presented. Gofer the Clown will perform at 10 a.m. followed by a magic show at 11:15. A live show onstage from Lehigh Valley will feature Forward Thrust and an all star show will feature some local talent from 5 to p p.m.
“We want people to come and enjoy an entire day of fun and activities,” said Putney.
