Picture Rocks Festival for Jessica Hicks Foundation

September is the National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month! On

Saturday, September 18, at the Picture Rocks Park (9am-4pm) you can

team up with the Jessica Ann Hicks Foundation to recognize this battle

on cancer. The foundation a 501 ( c ) will be celebrating its 10th

anniversary. Day includes a bicycle race and festival with lots of

food, games, hay ride, crafts, D&K dancers, live music and more

throughout the day. The event will help raise awareness and funds to

assist families with financial needs. Childhood Cancer awareness wrist

bands will be issued to the first 300 people. A community yard sale will

also take place and engraved bricks will be sold to honor a survivor or

to remember a loved one who lost the battle to cancer. All bricks will

be placed in Jessica’s Garden, Cancer Memorial of Pennsylvania located

on route 220 at the North end of town. For more information, contact

Childhood cancer facts: Each day more than 46 children are diagnosed

with cancer, one in 330 children will develop cancer by age 20, although

cure rates are steadily increasing, 35% of children will die, cancer

remains the number one disease killer of children and the second overall

leading cause of death of children in the U.S. .
